This was a group project that aimed to fix a current products that existed that used both an electronic device as well as the product itself. The goal was to look through the issues people were facing with the product and to find innovative ways to make it more usable for the average consumer.

During our research, we were able to find a niche market that targets parents who worry about the well being of their children, mostly new parents, but still want to go out and live a regular life. Further research showed us that there is a lack of connectivity between the product and the app such as distance and thick objects placed between the two made it almost impossible to operate the app. We also saw in our research that there was a lack of infrared features with these apps, something that would help a parent a lot more.

Final Look

We were told to fix some of the text input fields to be bigger to accommodate actual text as well as fix some of the background shapes for the home page of the app. Furthermore, we were instructed to fix some of our buttons to be the same size as the primary ones. I learned that UX design isn’t as complex as I thought it would be if the research was done by someone else and I’m just there to design the product that was asked of me.
